Week One at D-1

Going into HealthQuest On The HomeStretch, it was hard to imagine the intensity level we had to endure! I am the only one in the program who is still in high school, so many would think I have an advantage. I thought initially I would have the upper hand over the other participants - but that was not the case. The first week I was so sore. I developed an awkward limp. The funny thing was, it was "the limp of accomplishment!" I've gone to swim team practice at this time in the past, but this is a completely different experience. It's really hard but I know it's worth it!

Kara,

I can't tell you how much your face inspires me every morning. To think that you are doing something about your health at such an early age will put you on a lifelong path toward wellness.

You are the best!

Kara! You are such an encouragement to me. Coming there at 5 a.m. every morning and then heading off to HIGH school for the day! WOW, I thought I had it rough making it to my desk each day!! lol! You know what girl....you doing this at an early age will benefit not only you but the friends you influence on a daily basis! Seeing you and your mom work together daily is wonderful.
Looking forward to getting to know you better! Thanks for your help and encouragement on that tire the other morning! We did it! I would have been under the tire mid-field if you hadn't been such a big help and encouraged me to keep going!

Blessings,
Miss "Juji"

Kara,
When I first meet you, I thought you were in college. You are very mature for your age. Keep up the good work.

My Kara!
Wow! Can you believe we are getting up so early in the a.m. to workout together? I am LOVIN' EVERY MINUTE of it! Being a part of the HealthQuest with you has been awesome. You are constantly giving me encouragement and help motivate me to push myself to complete a set when I feel like I've burned up my last ounce of energy. It's GREAT being in this together!!!
I love you!
