Results Are In

So a couple of days ago we went to get "dunked" again, and unfortunately our numbers did were not a lot different then when we started. Even though there wasn't much change, I'm not going to let it discourage me. I've seen changes in myself and feel better all around- so i say its a success!

I've been going to spinning class Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the last three weeks or so and actually found out that I've been doing the wrong thing. You're supposed to go to intense aerobic workouts every other day so your body has time to recover. So I've actually been doing too much at once! Haha go figure; that wasn't what i thought anyone would ever tell me!

I'm going on the show Monday morning and am hoping that some other girls my age might listen in and consider doing this with me some day! I think it would be awesome for anyone else who wants a change and is tired of sitting around and just waiting for results to happen-and actually doing something like HealthQuest On The HomeStretch!

A much needed update!

So I have been really bad at keeping up with this blog.. but I'm going to try and get on top of it. Haha

Well, since I'm representing the high school aged girl, i know exactly how it feels to feel out of shape in a highschool enviorment and feel constantly pressured to look perfect and be the best. What i am begining to realize is that i need to not be concerned with what i look like, but what's going on underneath. My original goal was to get the "ideal body," but now I am coming to realize that the appearance is not my first priority.

This morning, in particular, was really hard for me. I usually can find some will to keep going, but for some reason it was a lot harder today. We were pushing those weights down the field and back and i felt like it was never going to end. Every workout is hard, but on the ride home I'm always glad i went. I've been trying to exercise outside of the Health Quest On the Home Stretch, which has been pretty interesting. I went to a spin class the other day and was actually pretty amazed that my endurance has gotten a lot better. I'm really looking forward to the weeks ahead and hope to eventually turn exercise into a habit.

Week One at D-1

Going into HealthQuest On The HomeStretch, it was hard to imagine the intensity level we had to endure! I am the only one in the program who is still in high school, so many would think I have an advantage. I thought initially I would have the upper hand over the other participants - but that was not the case. The first week I was so sore. I developed an awkward limp. The funny thing was, it was "the limp of accomplishment!" I've gone to swim team practice at this time in the past, but this is a completely different experience. It's really hard but I know it's worth it!
